Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part One

  • Proposition wagers in Craps: These Craps bets refers to the fact that you are wagering that a particular thing will develop on the next roll. For example, you may make the ‘hard ways’ bet, which means that you are betting that the tosser will toss a four, six, eight, or ten by rolling a double. These wagers offer a house advantage of anywhere from 9 to 11%. This is a massive casino advantage, and it’s awfully rare that they hit.
  • Tie wager in Baccarat: This is a bet that neither the dealer nor the player will win, but that both hands will tie. This is a very rare situation in net baccarat chemin de fer, therefore the house advantage is high. At fourteenpercent casino edge, this is the quintisential definition of a sucker wager.
  • Insurance in Blackjack: Although chemin de fer has one of the smallest casino advantages (and there is also a lot of ability involved), this is a sucker wager. Depending on how many decks of cards are being employed and the rules of the table, the casino advantage of this is at least five percent, but can be as big as fourteen percent. Only extremely experienced card counters are able to make this bet work for them, and even then it remains a sucker wager.
